Hi! My name is Jacob Impson, lovely to meet you. The more I started to travel, the more I noticed that my favourite part was waking up the the morning and trying to find cool new coffee shops. I thought it would be a fun intersection of my skills to build a little website to keep track of my favourites, so I did! Also, I thought the name was really clever.

Hurray, I found some great coffee in London! For five days I just constantly felt like I was accidentally going to the wrong places. Went here to kill some time before heading to the airport and by golly am I glad that I did. Delicious coffee, heaps of good snacks, clean toilet. Triple thumbs up.

After two days of searching I really struggled to find any good coffee in Switzerland, that being said, I didn't go to any major cities. Even with an underwhelming cup of coffee (sorry Acero) this place managed to put a massive spring in my step. The outside area is beautiful, the staff are super friendly and they also have delicious gelato and sorbet. Very positive vibes even with the low coffee score.

Best coffee that I had in Europe/UK. I took a photo from the front but the place was covered in graffiti (the bad kind) so here is an inside shot instead. Super trendy vibes, similar to what you would expect to find in Melbourne or San Francisco, but in Italy, which makes it considerably more fun. Also very dog friendly, so you'll probably see some dogs.

I wish I could come here again so I could try something else to let me give a more informed opinion. I had a flat white and it was absolutely fantastic. I'm giving a five because I have a lot of faith. Hanging out in here for a while I got the vibe that this team really knew what they were doing. Giving them the benefit of the doubt. Really great.

First coffee shop that I went to in Paris. This place is definitely aimed at tourists (oops) but I had a pretty good time here! Spent a good 45 minutes sitting trying to read French music magazines, which was way more entertaining than it should have been.

Time for an incredibly biased opinion! This is vegan coffee shop, which meant vegan croissants, something that was on my must eat list while in France. I was really, really excited to find this place. Really glad I can report that I liked it! My rating here has very little objectivity and is mostly fuelled by my excitement for baked goods, but the coffee was good too, I swear. I just had an espresso.

Truth be told, I came here for the doughnuts (which were totally fantastic) and wasn't expecting the coffee to be anything too fabulous. Maybe it was my low expectations, maybe it was my general mood at the time, but I totally loved this! Pairing with a dark chocolate doughnut was probably a lot to do with it.

Snuck off to this place in the middle of Laravel Live UK. Was in the mood for a good sit down and this place totally delivered. I was a little rushed and ordered a V60 (rookie mistake) so I ended up having to drink my massive flask within 10 minutes. Needless to say I was skipping down the street on my way back to the conference.

By the name, I would assume that this place was a bakery first and a coffee shop second. I can't comment on the baked goods (oops), as I didn't try any. But I can tell you this - it was my favourite coffee that I tried in London, by a long shot! Wow, didn't see that coming! This was also the first time I'd tried oat milk from a cafe, and was super impressed.

This was my first stop in London, straight off of the plane. From what I can remember, I was pretty pleased. Pretty chill vibes, walked away with a smile. Sorry I don't have much more to say about this one, I was very sleepy!

I visited here on the last day of my trip in Manhattan. Located under the High Line (hence the name) in Chelsea, this is a little hole in the wall with pretty decent coffee. The best part though - they were blasting ska! I was only there for about 10 minutes but I heard tunes from Five Iron Frenzy, Reel Big Fish and another band that I can't quite remember, so cool! I had a cortado.

No joke the best coffee I have had in my life. Came here on my last day in Toronto based on a few positive reviews online - totally incredible. You get to choose from three different blends for your espresso (I tried two) and they blew my mind. Amazing service too, very nice chatty people.

Came here first thing one morning to grab a coffee to stroll with and the whole experience was pretty uninspired. Highlight was the cup - from memory it was a super vibrant orange which I was a massive fan of.

This place was really really great! The first coffee that I had in Toronto. I was actually on my way to check out Manic when I saw this place and thought "Ooooh that looks good!". It was awesome. Really delicious and good vibes.

On my second day in Toronto I found myself wandering way further out of the city than I would have liked. I ended up in the old Distillery District, which is actually a super cool part of town, very old and full of cobble stone, sadly for me pretty much everything was closed at 9am, except this cafe, so I wandered in. There were some people filming out front (looked like some kind of commercial) which I found intriguing.

Really awesome little shop, so good that I went for a return visit. Apparently they're really famous in Ottawa for their Nutella lattes, but I didn't end up trying one, so cannot report.

My first real coffee experience in Montreal, was on my way to explore the city's main park and this place was sitting right on the base. I ended up sitting next to two women who were discussing building a website that university researchers could use to share and collaborate on knowledge and research specifically regarding female artists of the 18th century. I just sat there for about an hour listening and sketching in my note book.

Trendy vibes and average bean. I was drawn in by the cool branding and wood panels. I'd just been to my new favourite shop, Dollarama and bought a packet of plantain chips. So snacked on my plantain while drinking my coffee. There was a dude sitting next to be with a pretty beefy looking gaming laptop.

This was my place of refuge before heading off to the airport. Super odd decor in the best way possible - very steam-punk and industrial. Seemed like a bit of a local hangout, and it's bar as well! I just love how incredibly odd this place was.
45 Washington St, Brooklyn, NY 10013, USAVisited Aug 9, 2017 (1 year ago)
Not great, but in a pretty cool location, wedged in between the Brooklyn and Manhattan bridges. I remember the toilets being pretty spacious.
384 Court St, Brooklyn, NY 11231, USAVisited Aug 9, 2017 (1 year ago)
This one is a bit of an oddity as it was the only cold coffee I ordered in North America. Got a cold brew to keep be strolling through Brooklyn on a lovely sunny day. Was nice!

Lame, lame lame. Felt like a bunch of spoilt kids who didn't really give too many shits about anything. Cup had a picture of a horse on it though, so 1 star for the horse drawing.

This place totally ruled. Was around the corner from my new favorite tattoo shop, Allied Tattoo in Bushwick. Had a really cool vibe, great branding, yummo coffee and pretty cheap beans which I would devour if I was a local.

Just across the road from where I was staying, I was initially attracted to this place because of the adorable name - I was feeling a bit grumpy at the time so it was very relatable. This place was great. Cool vibes, good coffee and lots of vegan snacks. After I got home I realised that there was an MC Lars song that referenced this cafe in it's lyrics, how amazing is that?
18 W 29th St, New York, NY 10001, USAVisited Aug 7, 2017 (1 year ago)
Don't really remember if the coffee was okay, but I do remember that the service totally sucked and they were blasting club bangers that totally did not belong. Good window for people watching though.
128 W 72nd St, New York, NY 10023, USAVisited Aug 6, 2017 (1 year ago)
Very hip little hole in the wall shop in the upper west side. When I walked in I was the only person there, but by the time I left there was a line out the door. The coffee was very good, but also stupid expensive, not unusual for NYC but still a total kick in the guts - especially if you accidentally spill half of your drink on the table when trying to take your first sip, oops.
79 E 10th St, New York, NY 10003, USAVisited Aug 5, 2017 (1 year ago)
I don't remember this place being either good or bad - so I'm going to assume it was mostly good. Feel bad not having much else to say, but that's all I've got!

The best coffee that I had in the United States, by a long shot. Totally delicious and incredible. There was a dude in front of me smashing out code on his laptop, very San Francisco.

I came here with incredibly sore feet, mainly looking for somewhere to sit. I remember the toilets being pretty nice - but overall not too memorable. On a side note - this place is just around the corner from Amoeba SF, one of the best record stores I could find in the states.

My tour guide, on our way to Yosemite National Park, assured me that this was the best cup of coffee in America. I held my pretentious side unspoken and said something along the lines of "Mmm, good for the price!". Was a $2 coffee. Inside a cool grocery store though, lots of cheap Zinfandel.

Blue Bottle have locations all over the USA. I thought I had to try at least one, so I did. Basically Starbucks with more ply wood. They do have great avocado on toast however.

Took my chances at trying a filter here (this place also has multiple locations, but I only tried one) and it was fine. Felt a little awkward, not sure why.

One of the first cafes I went to in Tokyo. Pretty much identical to the one that I also reviewed in Osaka (like a franchise should be, I guess), which is a great thing! Really love this place. Amazing latte art, cool cookies and snacks, big smiles!

I love these places. Had the military latte while I was in Osaka (matcha/espresso camo splatter) and it was so silly you couldn't help but love it. Streamers smash out latte art like no where else in Japan that I could find.
